Valery Gets Her Bus (See Spotlight)
Valery Gets Her Bus (See Spotlight)

We started our campaign for Valery Dhamarrandji's family bus just before Christmas. Its part of our ongoing efforts, in honour of Broome's Indigenous taxi drivers, to lower transport costs in remote and regional Indigenous communities. On 28 January as you can see opposite, Valery purchased her first bus from Mr. Cais Alsewari who owns a number of these vehicles. The ISX has been involved in some large projects but none make us prouder than this one. We want to thank Elizabeth Aitken and Rob Morgan who directly sponsored the bus and enabled Valery to purchase it in her own name outright. Right people, right timing, right opportunity. Good luck Valery.
