Structure of the ISX

The Indigenous Stock Exchange has two parts:

(BAMA ISX) is a proprietary limited company wholly owned by the Broome Aboriginal Media Association (BAMA) a DGR and ITEC accredited non-profit organization. BAMA ISX is run by an independent board which includes BAMA representatives Kevin Fong and Stephen "Bamba" Albert. BAMA ISX contributes to BAMA's foundation purpose of supporting Indigenous commercial and social business development in Western Australia. BAMA ISX works in close association with BAMA's operational arm Goolarri Media Enterprises which is a 100% owned holding company of Broome Aboriginal Media Association.

The BAMA ISX contributes to BAMA's foundation purpose of supporting Indigenous commercial and social business development in Western Australia. BAMA ISX works in close association with BAMA's operational arm Goolarri Media Enterprises which is a 100% owned holding company of Broome Aboriginal Media Association. It is intended that the ownership of the BAMA ISX will be shared with national Indigenous communities. In this way the benefits and potential profitability of the ISX will transfer to all Australian Aboriginal nations over time.

The second part of the ISX is the national website and development activities that are run by a dedicated group of volunteers primarily in the Eastern States. The goal of the national ISX website is to provide a showcase of Indigenous businesses across Australia.

Over time we hope to form a network of ISX entities across Australia that will support and develop Indigenous businesses in their own region. BAMA-ISX is one model, but every region will have their own identity and ways of doing things. ISX community trading floors are one step in creating a local Indigenous business development group. Over time we hope that the national website will promote a national Indigenous network of business communities that will support each other and operate internationally. In this way the benefits and potential profitability of the ISX will transfer to all Australian Aboriginal nations, regions and organisations.

The BAMA ISX is not a financial market and does not sell or trade financial products of any kind.
