CALM Trainee Park Rangers WA

Closing date:

Region: West Australia - Pilbara
Location: Karratha
Organisation: CALM WA
Salary: Not Known

Western Australia's Department of Conservation and Land Management (CALM) says taking on trainee rangers from the local Indigenous community will help blend traditional ways of looking after the land with modern approaches.

CALM in the Pilbara, in north-west WA, is looking for two Aboriginal trainee rangers who will be given tutors and undertake a TAFE course while being trained as park rangers.

The trainees will work out of Karratha and cover the Burrup Peninsula and most of the Pilbara, including Exmouth, Karijini and Coral Bay.

Hardy Derschow from CALM says the department wants to work in conjunction with the local community.
