Djali has a very long career of interesting traditional roles. He became a "feather foot" or revered bush man at an eary age. He has worked in the European world in many capacities including as a magistrates court translator and Indigenous assistant. He is in great demand as hunter and a teacher of traditional men's bush craft. he is a bi-lingual teacher at Melbourne University as a cultural advisor. He has run the GARMA men's program since 2003. Djali is the Chairman of Bawaka Cultural Experiences at Bawaka homeland which is 90 minutes drive from Nhulunbuy. Small groups of visitors to the homeland participate in a range of cultural activities and are treated like friends rather than tourists.
