She resides and works at her Djapu clan homeland of Wandawuy which is an inland community of ten houses about 2 and a half hours South West of Yirrkala. The road becomes inaccessible during the Wet season and there is no mains power or TV/radio reception. She has a number of sons from her marriage to an older Dhalwangu clan elder now deceased. All of these surviving sons are artists. She draws on her knowledge to make works in her own clan (Djapu), her mother's (Madarrpa) and her husband's/childrens/female child's daughters/sons clan (Dhalwangu).
