100th Anniversary of NSW Stolen Generation
28 May 2008The 100th Anniversary of the formation of the United Aboriginal Mission's Bomaderry Children's Home - the birthplace of the Stolen Generation in NSW - was a very moving occasion. What a beautiful day it was in so many ways. The tears flowed. The laughter also came frequently and spontaneously. Sonny Sims did a wonderful job of organising the day. In true Aboriginal fashion it was an informal and wonderful celebration. It was so moving to look from the pictures of the Mission and then look up and see that the children had become elders - but all still with the cheeky and delightful hearts of those original children!
This presentation is a labour of love for all the "children" and staff who "came home" on the 24th May, 2008. Please enjoy it and most importantly share it with those who could not attend. Special thanks as ever to Archie Roach and Charcoal Club for making the wonderful music that accompanies the photographs.
